Dementia Workshops - Social Interaction and Activities for Carers ...

We know, we've heard, we are doing it ... living longer. This means people will be requiring a different model of care - extra care - enriched care - social care ...

After a great deal of study, research, visiting residential care homes, attending courses, meetings, workshops, exhibitions, talking at length with carers, people with dementia, NHS employees, care service support, doctors, nurses, volunteers, families and friends, it appears that extra or enriched social care for our elders and people with dementia is crucial to well being.

Social Interaction Training for Carers ~ Dementia

I've just spent a fabulous day at Borough Care, Stockport - sharing memory prompts, themed memory boxes, sorting boxes and much more with carers and managers - an energetic, enthusiastic group of ladies and gents taking dementia care to the next level - that of enriched care.

In the quest for ensuring enriched dementia care, Borough Care are piloting an integrated system of care - involving residents where possible in daily tasks. This can help maintain skills and to give meaning to a residents' daily life, enhance well being and encourage a sense of self.

Borough Care are certainly championing person-centred enriched care - and that's great to see.

Good News: Memory Boxes, Sorting Boxes, Post Card Prompts and 'All About Me' seemed to come out with top marks when the teams choose interactive materials to help residents interact.

'Social Interaction for Carers' - Workshops available at a venue / time to suit you.
